PIONEERS mobilizes teams to
glorify God among unreached peoples by initiating
church-planting movements in partnership with local
churches. God has truly blessed PIONEERS since its
founding nearly 30 years ago. Today, we have more than
1,700 international members serving on 178 teams in 80
countries among 130 unreached people groups. Pioneer
partners with more than 2,000 churches to send these
missionaries to least-reached peoples.

Story
'08 in Orlando Workers for the harvest was
God's idea and it's the core motivation behind Finishers
Project. We exist to help people connect with
opportunities to expand the kingdom of God worldwide and
we enthusiastically support similar initiatives.
Every mission sending
agency needs to recruit workers for the portion of the
harvest vision God has given them. As they see
opportunities for ministry they are compelled to seek
people to fill those needs. Agencies also see the bigger
picture and know that God is preparing workers for his
harvest who may serve with other sending agencies. We
applaud that perspective and want to mention one such
initiative, Story
'08. The
wonderful approach of Story
'08 is, although it is sponsored by Pioneers, it
is not a sales pitch for Pioneers. It is a conference
designed to help people discover where their gifts and
passions fit in with the completion of the Great
Commission. The motivation of Story
'08 is to give a first-hand glimpse of global
needs in order to connect with the least-reached people
on the planet. Attendees will be given practical tools
for taking the next step, whatever or wherever that
might lead. Check it
out at www.story08.com. Perhaps this
is God's next step for you on your path to finishing
well for his glory!

George Verwer to Keynote the Dallas
Forum
 We are
very excited and pleased to announce that George Verwer,
Founder of Operation Mobilization, will be speaking at
the Finishers Forum to be held in
the Dallas-Fort Worth area, November 7-8. Verwer brings
a passion to see people all over the world come
to faith and grow into vital, world-changing
relationship with Christ. George
will bring a clear message of God's heart for the world
and how people from all walks of life and all
ages, can be used by God to make a significant
impact for his kingdom. Since coming to faith as a young
man his constant prayer has been: "Only one thing
I want in life: I want to learn to pray, to love you, I
want to know you and commune with you."
George
and his wife, Drena, make their home in England, they
have three children and five grandchildren. Today OM
reaches across the world through two ships and over
4,000 people working in over 80 nations to make Christ
known in the lives of all they meet. For many years
George served as the International Director of OM and
has now raised up dedicated leadership to pursue this
task across the world, freeing him to travel and speak,
helping Christ-followers around the world find their
role in extending the kingdom of
God.

Is
Overseas Ministry Really for Me? If this
question has crossed your mind you could greatly benefit
from The
Journey Deepens, a retreat-type weekend designed
to help you answer that question. The format is
informal, allowing for time to interact with experienced
cross-cultural workers who are there to listen to your
questions and provide helpful input. The
core of the retreat and the key distinctive is the
discussion groups with six inquirers and two
missions coaches which meet four times throughout the
weekend. These groups are arranged by ages in order to
meet others on similar journeys and discuss your
particular issues. Attendance
is about 50 people; at this retreat you will not be
overwhelmed with overchoice! Some of the subjects
that will be covered in the general sessions and
discussion groups:
- I feel a pull from God to the
nations. What should I do next?
- Which of my gifts and interests could
I use in another culture?
- How can I deal with school
loans?
- What's involved in raising prayer and
financial support?
- How do I discuss missions with my
family and my church?
- If God leads me to stay and send
others, what would that
involve?
To
learn more and to register for an upcoming retreat
please go to: www.thejourneydeepens.com
The
Journey Deepens retreats, developed and led for
several years by John McVay, are now a ministry of
Finishers.
The
keynote speaker for this retreat is Steve Hoke, VP of
Training for Church Resource Ministries. In this
role, Steve helps mobilize, train, and encourage
international teams for ministry around the world as
well as ministering in churches to advise and
encourage them in their mission ministry and mentor
missions pastors. His passion is to help raise up the
next generation of mission leaders from churches across
North America and the world, and to see that they are
effective in their roles as intercultural
servant-leaders.
