Boomers:  God's Provision for Kingdom Expansion

There are 78 million of us across the U.S.  We are the healthiest, wealthiest, most educated generation in our nation's history!  Trained by corporate America and looking to leave a significant impact with the investment of our coming years.

Just at the time in history when business, management, leadership and entrepreneurial skills are needed to access countries for kingdom impact, God has an army of 12 million evangelical Boomers looking to finish well.  Coincidence?  Not a chance.  The events and values that shaped this unique generation have been used by the Lord of the harvest to prepare the workers he needs for this period in history.

Finishers exists to help connect Boomers with thousands of local and global opportunities. We have connected 3,000 to date, with our sights set on 5,000 in the next five years!

Connection Campaign for $235,000 -

Launched to Connect 5,000 People to a Missions Role by 2011!

In January of this year Finishers launched the "Connection Campaign" to fund the Finishers vision. With God's blessing and your help, we will connect 5,000 people with ministry roles by the end of 2011.

To accomplish this urgent goal, we must increase capacity and recruit people for 10 strategic areas:  1) Operations, 2) Church Relations, 3) Finishers Forums, 4) Agency Relations, 5) Coaching Network, 6) Web Development, 7) Communications, 8) Development, 9) MSO 9000/Business-As-Mission, and 10) Prayer Network.

Already, God has provided Paul and Colleen Erdmann for Operations and Tom Adelsman for Church Relations. Two down, eight to go!

We are also trusting God to provide $235,000 in contributions during 2007. Join us as an advocate for Finishers Project and introduce your colleagues to the opportunity to have a significant impact on our world. Forward this eNews to your pastor and several friends and pray that 5,000 more Boomers will answer the call to a missions career!

Another Successful Connection through Finishers

The Abrahamsons share their story:

"We were simply curious and had no intention of going into missions when we took a class called Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. What happened, instead, was that our hearts were changed!

"The last Perspectives speaker introduced us to the Finishers Project and we filled out the on-line form. To our surprise we were linked to 50-60 organizations that needed people with our skills!  At this point we really needed to talk to the different agencies to find a best fit so we went to a Finishers' national conference to meet the agencies.  We were wrestling with questions such as; 'Where does He want us to go?' and 'What is God's plan for us?'

"During this time we were accepted by Wycliffe and began to raise our support.  Using techniques we learned at the Finishers conference, we shared our assignment and vision for ministry with everyone we knew and the Lord provided our needed support in about eight months.

"Although we desired to serve overseas, the Lord made it clear that there was a strategic need for someone with Ed's experience in Wycliffe International at Dallas. In his new role it has become clear why the Lord gave Ed 25 years of experience developing publishing processes for aerospace companies.

"Frances is now serving as receptionist at the International Linguistics Center's welcome desk. She greets newcomers to the Center, takes care of Center registration paperwork, and ensures that they make necessary connections at the Center. Her assignment is just exercising the gifts that the Lord has given her."
